Welcome to K8DAV!Amateur radio has always been a fascinating hobby. But in the time of low sun spot activity things get a bit slow on the air. Besides spending time with my wife and family other 'sub hobbies' fall in to take up the slack. I do get a charge out of volunteering for ham club activities if I can plus the club web site and another commercial web site. Weather has always been a fun sub-hobby and even though I can't spend the time necessary to 'do it right', I did manage to put up a few items on my city lot. In my work as a broadcast technician, I get to work on many types of equipment but obviously I'm more into the RF side. The frequencies involved range from 150 MHz to 23 GHz. Even though most of the equipment is of the store bought variety, making items that are not available or just too expensive to buy is a very nice challenge. Since much of what I do at work and home are interlaced in some way, this site is somewhat non specific. Yes, that's right. I do have an emmy. It's cute.
